The Constellation trail system is a group of trails located in Prescott AZ, and it is a favorite among the locals. The trail system acquired it’s name after a 1959 airplane crash that happened in the area. Some of the metal remains were gathered from the crash and are still at located near the trailhead. The trail system provide variety of trails for hikers and bikers of all ages & abilities. It is a 2.5 mile loop that is rated easy-moderate. The trails can be slick due to the decomposition of the granite surface, so I recommend a poles if you have one. The views and rock formations are among the best in the Dells. The trailhead is conveniently located across from the Phipen Museum on Route 89 North of Prescott GPS loccation 34.6233197 -112.4255797 United States. There is a 3$ parking fee but if you visit on Wednesday the fee is waved. We also located a couple of Geocaches in the Dells.
We love hiking the Constellation Trails. If you are in the Prescott area and haven’t hiked much, the Constellation Trails is a wonderful tail system to start with.
